Springfield Preservation and Revitalization is celebrating 904 Day by supporting our local businesses and inviting you to #ShopSpringfield.
The Springfield Historic District is the oldest neighborhood in the City of Jacksonville, just north of Downtown. The charm of the Historic District and wonderful local businesses make Springfield a must-see destination in Jacksonville. Many of our small business owners live in Springfield and chose Springfield to be the home of their business, too. Perfect for walking or biking, tourists and visitors alike can spend the day exploring the neighborhood while supporting local. Here are a few of our recommendations to get you started:
- Start your day off with a coffee or pastry from 1748 Bakehouse or Artessence, or grab brunch and enjoy the incredible murals at Tulua Bistro.
- Do some local shopping at The Block Skate Supply, Auntie Peaches or Jacksonville’s largest rock shop, Meta Earth.
- If you’re looking for a fun outing with friends, throw some axes or darts at Stumpy’s Hatchet House, or stop into Cripsy’s 2.0 for a slice and trivia.
- For dinner, check out one of Yelp’s Top 100 Restaurants in the U.S. at Wafaa and Mike’s Cafe.
- For a more upscale Mediterranean experience, book a reservation at Othello.
- Unwind at Juice Wine Bar with a glass of wine and charcuterie in a charming atmosphere.
- Cool off with a frozen treat from Icecapade, Springfield Scoops or Dreamette Springfield!

Whether you’ve lived in Jacksonville your entire life, or are just passing through, be sure to stop by Springfield to experience the charm for yourself.
